This training provides you with an understanding of what constitutes Temporary Works and when specific controls are required. Who checks the temporary Works controls and how they are recorded. This training will demonstrate a clear understanding of what Temporary Works are, where you find them and who is responsible for them.

Definition of Temporary Works – ‘Parts of the works that allow or enable the construction of, protect, support or provide access to the permanent works and which might not remain in place at the completion of the works’.

Course Aims:

  • Describe the legal requirements surrounding Temporary Works
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of Temporary Works co-ordination, designer, and the duties they may encounter.

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
  • The five stages of general risk assessment.
  • Specific risk assessment.
  • The hierarchy of the control.
