Harness and Ladder Training Course

Course Details:

The most recent HSE guidance on the safe use of ladders, ‘INDG 455 – Safe use of Ladders and Stepladders, an Employers Guide’ states that “On a ladder where you cannot maintain a handhold, other than for a brief period, other measures will be needed to prevent a fall or reduce the consequences of one”.

In practice, this means that if you are using a ladder to work from and cannot complete the task with one hand, you must provide an additional means of support for the user and a means of arresting a fall.

Course Aims:

To provide the candidates with underpinning knowledge for them to use ladders & harnesses safely and efficiently.

Course Content:

  • Understand the requirements for using ladders & harnesses.
  • Learn how to adopt a positive attitude towards safe systems of work.
  • To understand the reasons for the safe use of ladders.
  • Understand the basics of working at height.

Certification:

Learners will receive a certificate on completion of the course.
