Truss Jib Part 1 & 2 Training Course

Course Aims:

The aim of this course is to provide candidates with underpinning knowledge for them to be familiar with truss carrying jibs and to use them to carry trusses and other long items safely on site. Part two of the course which covers placing trusses shows operatives how to place trusses onto wall plates up to a maximum of 2.5 stories.

Course Content:

  • Procedures
  • Characteristics of truss jibs
  • Familiarisation and pre-use inspections
  • Traffic Management
  • Theoretical and practical guidance on the slinging and transporting of roof trusses and other objects around a construction site
  • Positioning of the machine
  • Monitoring of weather conditions
  • Ensure load placement position is within reach (carry out no-load test lift)
  • Lift and place the load under guidance from the slinger/signaller

Assessment:

Continuous practical assessment.

Certification:

Learners will receive a certificate of attendance
